Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department is currently looking for volunteer coaches for the youth baseball program.

 

All coaches, parents and or team moms must submit and pass a background check before being allowed to coach or have interaction with the team on the practice field, in the dugout, playing field or other team activities. The City of Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department’s focus promoting sportsmanship, learning proper mechanics, and basic fundamentals for youth baseball. Coaches should encourage learning through drills and organized practices for all players. All coaches must understand, agree to carry out the duties, responsibilities, policies, and philosophies as established by the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department. It is mandatory that all coaches conduct a preseason parents meeting.  Topics should include introduction of coaching staff, role of the coaches, role of the parents, team fees, rules and safety precautions. 

 

Coaches needed in the following age groups:

  • Rookie League (5 -6 yr. olds)
  • Coaches Pitch (7-8 yr. olds)
  • A League  (9-10 yr. olds)
  • AA League (11-12 yr. olds)
  • AAA League (13-14 yr. olds)
